Why the need for a new Lexicon of the Hebrew Bible?
All current lexicons and dictionaries define roots and words from a modern western perspective. But, as the Hebrew Bible was written from an ancient Hebrew perspective, it is necessary to read the text from this viewpoint.
How is the "Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible" different from other Bible Lexicons?
There are several aspects of this lexicon that are not found in other lexicons. The format of the lexicon is based on the root system, the parent, child and adopted roots, of the Hebrew language allowing the reader to understand each word within the context of related words and roots. The concrete origins to abstract thoughts are identified whenever possible to allow the reader to have a more Hebraic understanding of words.
I do not know Hebrew, will I still be able to benefit from the Lexicon?
Absolutely. The lexicon is designed to be used by anyone whether they know Hebrew or not.
