SK – Protective covering – booth.? Sakal is like protection in the authority of God. Jer 23:5,6 Behold the days come, says the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous shoot, and he shall reign as king and prosper (sakal) and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell in safety…. Here we see the promised Messiah having sekel likened to doing justice and righteousness which causes Israel to live in safety.

Sakal (Strongs 7919 which in the AHLB has 2835 next to it which is sakach – 7911) means to act prudently or wisely with insight. As we seek to live acting in prudence this becomes a protection for us as was with David in 1 Sam 18:5 And David went wherever Saul sent him, he had good success (sakal)..14,15 And David had great success in all his ways and the Lord was with him… when Saul saw he had great success he stood in awe of him. Even though David’s life was threatened by Saul the Lord protected him and he eventually became king. In 1 Sam 18:30 David’s name was held high because of his “sekel”.

Jer 9:23 But let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understands (sakal) and knows Me, that I am the Lord ….Here sakal is likened to the knowledge of God. Ecc 7:12 for wisdom is protection just as money is protection. But the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the lives of its possessors. Knowledge, like Sakal protects.
